Together with Sprint, Samsung finally released its affordable smartphone with great features namely Samsung Conquer 4G. It comes not only for its affordable price under $100 on contract, but also great features such as 1 GHz processor, Android Gingerbread OS, 3.2 megapixels camera, GPS and many more. Closer look, here are the details and full specifications of the smartphone.
Samsung Conquer 4G
Hitting the market on August 2011, Samsung Conquer 4G comes with a full touch screen design measuring 116 x 60 x 12 mm and weighing 116 grams. The phone is made of plastic material – partially by recycled bio plastics – with rounded edges, silver metal frame around the side and textured finished on back side. Located on the front is 3.5 inches touchscreen supports 256K colors and 320 x 480 pixels resolution. Above the display, there is 1.3 megapixels front camera while below the display are four physical buttons for Menu, Home, Back and Search function. The left side is resided by volume rocker and the right side is camera key. Speakerphone and main camera as well as LED flash is located on the back.
Samsung Conquer 4G is powered by Android OS v2.3 (Gingerbread) with 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM. All the applications run smoothly without lag even when you install and run a handful of applications. For the connectivity, Conquer 4G runs on CDMA network and already supports 3G data network over 1xEV-DO Rev. A up to 3.1 Mbps as well as 4G data network over Sprint’s WiMAX network. Experiencing faster internet browsing with 4G data network can be done using built-in web browser or Android web browser supports HTML web pages and Flash. Conquer 4G also comes with WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, microUSB connection and GPS navigation system with A-GPS support.
Come to the camera, Samsung Conquer 4G is equipped by two cameras; a 1.3 megapixels front camera for video call and a 3.2 megapixels main camera with LED flash located on the back side. The main camera manages to capture pretty good images when the lighting is good. As in low-light conditions, the images quality decrease and details get lost. For video recording, it comes with good performance but may only record video at VGA resolution. For storage, the phone offers external memory up to 32 GB via microSD card. Multimedia features available include Android Media player for playing music and video. Music player manages to play music of MP3, WAV, and eAAC+ formats. Meanwhile, video player supports XviD, H.264 and MPEG-4 video format.
For messaging features, there are SMS (threaded view), MMS, Instant Messaging, Email, and Push Email. Other features are Organizer, Document viewer, Voice memo, Java MIDP emulator and Accelerometer. There is also pre-installed Google application such as YouTube, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, Google Talk, and Picasa integration. In addition, there are thousands more Android applications waiting to be downloaded via Android Market. Last but not least, Samsung Conquer 4G is powered by standard battery Li-ion 1500 mAh that can last up to 6 hours of talk time.
