Following the success of Pantech Jest last year, Pantech comes back with its successor; Pantech Jest 2. Still featuring the same design as its successor but gaining some improvement as well. How the phone performance is, let’s find out on the review and detail specifications of the phone below.

Pantech Jest 2 comes with a sliding design and a portrait QWERTY keyboard measuring 94 x 66 x 15 mm and weighing 116 grams. The front side of the phone is resided by 2.4 inches TFT display with 320 x 240 pixels resolution and 256K colors support. Right below the screen is navigation array that consists of two soft keys, a circular toggle pad with middle OK key, a Call key, a speakerphone key, a Clear key, and End Call or Power key. Slide up the phone and there is full QWERTY keyboard arranged in 4 rows.

Pantech Jest 2 released as a world phone with both CDMA and GSM network support. The phone can only run on Verizon’s CDMA network in US but you may insert any GSM SIM card to get GSM network while you are abroad outside US. For data connectivity, Jest 2 already supports CDMA Rev. 0 up to 2.4 Mbps as well as HSDPA network outside US. Internet browsing can be done using built-in web browser with WAP 2.0/xHTML and HTML web pages support or you can use Opera Mini browser. Jest 2 also offers other connectivity such as Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, microUSB connection and GPS navigation system with VZ Navigator integration.

Pantech Jest 2 is also equipped by 2 megapixels camera with no autofocus or flash. It manages to capture images up to 1600 x 1200 pixels resolution with average quality. Some of camera features include white balance setting, mirror, effects, and self-timer. The camera can also record video. To store data, Jest 2 provides external memory via microSD card up to 32 GB. Come to multimedia features, Jest 2 provides music player and video player. The music player comes with standard interface and V Cast Music with Rhapsody integration. Furthermore, it manages to play MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC+ music formats. Meanwhile, the video player supports video in MP4/H.263 formats.

Messaging features is surely one of its best features as it comes with QWERTY keyboard. They include text messaging (SMS), multimedia messaging (MMS), Instant Messaging and Email. In addition, it also comes with pre-loaded Social Beat applications for staying in touch with your friends via Social Network anytime and everywhere. Sound alerts types include Vibration mode, Polyphonic ringtones (64), and MP3 ringtones. The phonebook can save up to 1000 entries; each may consist of multiple numbers, picture caller ID, ring ID and notes. There is also Organizer features including Calendar, Alarm, Calculator, Tip calculator, and Notes. Other features available of Jest 2 are SNS integration, Games, Voice memo, Voice dial, Voice commands, and Loudspeaker.

To support its performance, Pantech Jest 2 uses standard battery Li-Ion 950 mAh. The battery life is rated up to 4 hours 54 minutes of talk time or up to 322 hours of standby time.
