HTC Titan II vs Nokia Lumia 900

At CES 2012, Windows seems a bit aggressive in announcing some of its best Windows smartphones. Among those Windows smartphones, HTC Titan II and Nokia Lumia 900 that run on AT&T network seem to get more attention than other Windows smartphones. What make them special and what are the differences among them. To answer those questions, let’s have a look at the comparison below.

Form Factor - In term of form factor, both Titan II and Lumia 900 comes with full touchscreen and candybar design. The different comes on their dimension and weight; HTC Titan II’s dimension appears slightly bigger measuring 132 x 69 x 13 mm but manages to keep the weight less than Lumia 900.

Display - Comparing 4.3 inches Lumia 900’s display with 4.7 inches Titan II’s display, surely the winner goes to Titan II with bigger display. However, Lumia 900 appears to have brighter and sharper display performance, thanks to its ClearBlack and AMOLED technology. The display resolution comes in the same pixels and touch response is quite the same too.

Processor - Processor is an important part of smartphone because the speed of phone’s performance is depends on its processor. Surely people prefer smartphone with faster performance rather than the slow one. HTC Titan II is powered by 1.5 Ghz Scorpion processor, while Nokia Lumia 900 is powered by 1.4 Ghz Scorpion processor. Although it is only 0.1 Ghz difference, Titan II’s speed performance would be better than Lumia 900.

Operating System (OS) - Both smartphones runs on Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) and shares similar user interfaces and features as well. Windows Mango on both smartphones offers the latest build of Microsoft’s colorful and innovative operating system along with its great applications.

Connectivity - In connectivity, both smartphones comes with similar features including 4G data network, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1, microUSB v2.0 and GPS. However, this time Lumia 900 is one step ahead with NFC features. NFC or Near Field Communication is a feature that basically helps you transferring data faster with other NFC enabled phones.

Camera - In this term, the two smartphones show their obvious difference. Lumia 900 is equipped by 8 megapixels main camera, 720p video recording, and 1.3 megapixels front facing camera. Titan is also equipped with similar camera features but HTC doubles the main camera feature. Yes, you are right, doubles of Lumia 900’s main camera feature which means 16 megapixels. Sure enough, Titan II obviously wins the comparison.

Battery - Both smartphone, HTC Titan II and Nokia Lumia 900 come with powerful battery. Titan II is powered by Li-Ion 1730 mAh battery while Lumia 900 comes with Li-Ion 1830 mAh battery. It is noticeably that Lumia 900 carries out better battery than Titan II. But keep in mind that better battery size also means better battery life; battery life depends on phone’s performance.

Price and Availability - Both smartphone will release with AT&T carrier. HTC Titan II is expected to come in the first quarter of 2012 while Nokia Lumia 900 in March 2012. Unfortunately, the prices for both smartphones have not been announced yet.
