Coming with new and fresh look, Palm Centro takes candybar design that holds its touch screen and portrait QWERTY keyboard. It feels small in all dimensions but still perfectly match in your hand measuring 107.2 x 53.5 x 18.6 mm and weighing 124 grams. The front panel is resided by 2.25 inches resistive touchscreen in 320 x 320 pixels resolution, navigation array and full QWERTY keyboard. The navigation array comes with silver accent that differentiate it from the keyboard. It consists of Call key. Phone key, Home key, End Call or Power key, Message key, Calendar key and elliptical 5-way directional pad on the center. Below the navigation array is full QWERTY keyboard arranged in 4 rows. It feels small and cramped as most part of the front panel is taken by the screen. Palm Centro is a smartphone running on Palm OS 5.4.9 and powering 32-bit Intel XScale PXA270 312 MHz processor. The interface appears in intuitive layout and runs smooth and stable. There is also customize options such as changing wallpaper or edit and create categories, as well as reassign application to any category. For messaging features, Palm Centro offers text messaging (SMS), multimedia messaging (MMs), Instant Messaging and Email. Text messaging comes with threaded view that allows text messages to become instant message conversations. The camera performs very well with bright and great color representation and sharp edges. The camera can also record video up to 352 x 288 pixels resolution with average quality. All video playback is handled by and Pics & Videos application. It is manage to play videos in full-screen mode and supports MPEG4 QVGA videos encoded with H.263. Meanwhile, audio playback is handled by Pocket Tunes deluxe application. It comes with full featured music player and can play in background.
