Captivate Great Performance of Samsung Captivate Glide

One of Samsung’s powerful Android smartphone, it is Samsung Captivate Glide. It boasts great performance as powered by Android Gingerbread OS, 1 GHz processor, Super AMOLED display, 8 megapixels camera, GPS and many more.  In detail, let’s captivate its great performance on review below.

Samsung Captivate Glide is designed as a side slider phone with full touch screen and a slide landscape QWERTY keyboard. It is made entirely of plastic with rounded edges and gray accent around its side. It is compact and light measuring 124 x 64 x 13 mm and weighing 147 grams. The front side is resided by 4 inches capacitive touch screen (480 x 800 pixels) with Super AMOLED technology. Above the screen, there is a front facing 1.3 megapixels camera and an earpiece. Right below the screen are four touch sensitive keys for Menu, Home, Back and Search function. Around the phone’s side, there are microphone, volume rocker, power button, 3.5 mm headset jack, and microUSB port. Slide phone to the right to reveal 4 rows QWERTY keyboard. Each key comes with square shape and light-blue accent color on the backlit. There are four additional physical keys on the QWERTY keyboard, two on each side. Home and Menu keys on the left side of the keyboard, while Back and Search keys on the right side of the keyboard. On the back side of the phone, there are 8 megapixels camera, LED flash and speakerphone.

Samsung Captivate Glide is a powerful smartphone running on Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread) and Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 Nvidia Tegra 2 processor with 1 GB RAM. It may not the best thing, but it shows enough vigor and power to its overall operation. The phone runs on GSM network and supports HSDPA up to 21 Mbps and HSUPA up to 5.76 Mbps. Experiencing its fast data speed can be done using stock Android web browser with HTML and Adobe Flash support. There are also other connectivity such as WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth, DLNA, HDMI, NFC, and microUSB connection, not to mention its aGPS navigation system.

Captivate Glide is also equipped by two cameras; a 1.3 megapixels front facing camera and an 8 megapixels main camera with autofocus and LED flash. Some of main camera features are Geo-tagging, touch focus, and face & smile detection. The main camera can also be functioned as a camcorder for recording videos in 720p resolution at 30 fps. For storage, there is room up to 8 GB of internal memory and additional external memory via microSD card up to 32 GB. Media player come with stock Android media player for playing music and video. If the media player doesn’t suits enough, you may download other media player application via Android Market.

Messaging features of Samsung Captivate Glide include SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Mail, and IM. Email feature supports multiple email accounts shown either in separate or combined inboxes.  Text input can be done using virtual on-screen QWERTY keyboard on portrait mode or slide-out physical QWERTY keyboard on landscape mode.

Other features include pre-loaded Google service applications, SNS integration, Document viewer, Organizer, Image and video editor, Voice memo/dial/commands, and Java MIDP emulator. Last, Samsung Captivate Glide is powered by standard battery Li-Ion 1650 mAh that can last up to 8 hours of talk time or up to 396 hours of standby time.
