LG Spectrum, a 4G LTE Smartphone

Joining the tight competition of 4G LTE smartphone, LG announced its new phone namely LG Spectrum. It is expected to hit the market on January 19th, 2012. Aside its 4G LTE connectivity, it is also powered with massive features such as Android Gingerbread OS, 1.5 GHz processor, 8 megapixels camera, GPS, and many more. LG Spectrum comes with full touch screen design measuring 135.4 x 68.8 x 10.4 mm and weighing 141.5 grams. On the front side, there is 4.5 inches HD-IPS LCD capacitive touch screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 16M colors supports. The screen is powered by True HD Graphic Engine technology and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Above the screen is a front facing camera for video calls while below is chromed out Home screen keys. The back side is resided by main camera with LED flash and speakerphone.

LG Spectrum is a powerful smartphone running on Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread) and powered by Dual-core 1.5 GHz Scorpion processor with Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon chipset and 1 GB RAM. For the connectivity, LG Spectrum works on CDMA network and supports 4G LTE network. Data connectivity is powered by EV-DO Rev. A,up to 3.1 Mbps and 4G LTE data network. To experience high speed 4G LTE data network, there is built-in web browser available with WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML, and Adobe Flash support. Spectrum is also equipped with other connectivity such as Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, DLNA, TV-out (via MHL A/V link), NFC and microUSB connection. There is also GPS navigation system with A-GPS support.

Come to camera, LG Spectrum is equipped by two cameras; a 1.3 megapixels front facing camera and an 8 megapixels main camera with autofocus and LED flash. Main camera is capable of capturing images up to 3264 x 2448 pixels resolution. Some of camera’s features include Geo-tagging, face detection, and image stabilization. Video recording using main camera is able to record video in HD 1080p resolution at 30 fps. For storage, Spectrum provides 4 GB internal memory. If that is not enough, there is an additional external memory up to 32 GB via microSD card. Spectrum also comes with multimedia feature include media player for playing music and videos. Music player can handle music in MP3/WMA/WAV/FLAC/eAAC+/AC3/DTS formats. Meanwhile, video player is capable in playing MP4/H.264/H.263/WMV/DviX video formats. In addition, LG Spectrum is also equipped by Dolby mobile sound enhancement.

Messaging features of LG Spectrum include text messaging (SMS) in threaded view, multimedia messaging (MMS), Email, Push Mail, Instant Messaging, and RSS. To input text, Spectrum provides virtual on-screen keyboard that consists of virtual alphanumerical keyboard on portrait view and virtual QWERTY keyboard on both portrait and landscape view. Other features of LG Spectrum includes SNS integration, Active noise cancellation with dedicated microphone, True HD movie editor, Document viewer and editor, Organizer, Voice memo, Voice dial, Voice commands, and Accelerometer. To support its performance, LG Spectrum uses standard battery Li-Ion 1830 mAh.
