Following the success of T-Mobile G1, T-Mobile together with HTC comes back with its sequel under the name of T-Mobile G2. It comes with exquisite design but massive features. Closer look, here is the review of T-Mobile G2.

T-Mobile G2 also known as HTC Desire Z comes with full touch screen design plus a side slide QWERTY keyboard. The phone’s appearance is clean and exquisite with combination of brushed aluminum finish and silver colored soft touch covering. It measures 119.4 x 61 x 15.2 mm and weighs 184.3 grams. The front side is resided by 3.7 inches capacitive touch screen (480 x 800 pixels resolution) with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Below the screen are four touch capacitive keys for Home, Menu, Back, and Search function as well as a square shaped track-pad. The left side houses microUSB port and volume rocker while the right side resides camera shutter. On the top, there are 3.5 mm headphone jack, and Power key. Slide the smartphone to reveal full QWERTY keyboard arranged in 4 rows. The back side features 5 megapixels camera and LED flash.
T-Mobile G2 is powered by Android OS v2.2 (Froyo) and 800MHz Qualcomm MSM 7230 processor with 512 MB RAM. All applications run smooth and responsive in navigating around and launching applications. For the interface, there are 7 different pages of Home screen that can be customized with various widgets, icons, and shortcut. T-Mobile G2 runs on quad band GSM network and supports HSDPA up to 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA up to 2 Mbps. Experiencing its high speed internet connection can be done by using stock Android’s web browser with HTML and Adobe Flash support. Other connectivity includes WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, and microUSB connection as well as GPS navigation system with A-GPS.
T-Mobile G2 is also equipped by 5 megapixels camera with autofocus and LED flash. The camera comes with simple layout and basic settings such as modifying focus, exposure, white balance, and zoom. As a camcorder, the camera can record videos in 720p resolution. Come to multimedia feature, there is a stock Android media player for playing music and videos. You may also download another media player application that suits you best via Android market. To store data, there are 4 GB internal memory and additional external memory via microSD card up to 32 GB.
Messaging features of T-Mobile G2 include SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Email, and Instant Messaging. Text input is done using virtual QWERTY on-screen keyboard or physical landscape QWERTY keyboard. Some of pre-loaded Google service applications are Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, and Picasa integration. You can also download more application via Android market. Other features available on T-Mobile G2 are Organizer, Voice memo, Java MIDP emulator and Accelerometer. To support its performance, uses standard battery Li-Ion 1300 mAh. The battery life is rated up to 6 hours 40 minutes (3G) of talk time or up to 430 hours (3G) of standby time.
