A Simple Midrange 3G Phone of AT&T F160

Together with AT&T, Chinese phone manufacture ZTE released its midrange phone under the name of AT&T F160. It comes with simple design and offers 3G data network, 3MP camera, Bluetooth, speakerphone and many more. Closer look, full descriptions of the phone is available below.

AT&T F160

AT&T F160 appears as an old fashioned candybar phone measuring 116 x 49 x 11.1 mm and weighing 84 grams. It is made of black plastic material with rounded corners, thin strips of silver on the right and left side, and soft-touch rubberized plastic on the back side. The display takes dimension of 2.4 inches with 240 x 320 pixels QVGA resolution and 262.000 colors which make it looks bright and colorful. Below the display are navigation array and alphanumerical keypad. The navigation array consists of two soft keys, a square toggle with central OK key, a Call key, an End Call or Power Key, a Clear key and a shortcut key. Around the phone’s side, there are volume rocker, camera shutter, microUSB charging port, and 3.5 mm headset jack. Camera lens is located on the back side.

AT&T F160 runs on AT&T’s quad-band 2G GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) network and tri-band 3G HSDPA (850/1900/2100 MHz) network. Internet experience is handled through AT&T's Opera Mini 5 browser that is simple to use and fast enough for casual browsing internet. Other connectivity includes Bluetooth and microUSB connection as well as GPS navigation system available.

A bit disappointing features of AT&T F160 are camera feature and multimedia features. The camera comes with 3 megapixels with no autofocus or flash. The image quality is poor, blurry, and washes out even after increasing the brightness. Camera features include resolutions setting, quality grades, brightness and contrast settings, color effects and shutter sounds. The camera may also record videos in average quality with video setting similar to camera setting. Storing data, AT&T F160 provides 150 MB internal memory and additional external memory via microSD card up to 32 GB. Multimedia features of music player and video player come with standard interface. Sound quality of the music and video player is terrible with clanging sound, lacking hint of bass and slight hissing in the background.

Come to messaging features, AT&T F160 is equipped by text messaging (SMS), multimedia messaging (MMS), Instant Messaging and email. Instant messaging clients available are AIM, MSN, and Yahoo! Messenger. Email features allow you to access your mobile email account of AOL, Gmail, or Hotmail. In addition, there is also pre-loaded AT&T Social Net application that offers Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace updates.

Phonebook of AT&T F160 has enough room for 500 contacts; each may consist of name, multiple phone numbers, multiple email addresses, and street address. You can also assign each contact with one of twelve pre-loaded ringtones or your own MP3 ringtones. Other standard features of AT&T F160 include alarm clock, calendar, calculator, currency converter, stopwatch, world clock, voice recorder, and Loudspeaker. For supporting its performance, AT&T F160 uses standard battery 900 mAh that is rated 3 hours of talk time or up to 8 days of standby time.
