Over the past few years, Samsung plays mostly in smartphones market but actually it hasn’t ignored basic phone market at all. One of its basic phones released recently is Samsung M360. It is targeted for those who want a phone that “just a phone” with basic features as well. Closer look, here is the review and detail specification of the phone.

Samsung M360 comes with simple clamshell design measuring 99 x 48 x 18 mm and weighing 102 grams. It is made entirely of plastic material with black soft-touch finished on the back and glossy royal blue and black on the front. When the clamshell closed, front side of the phone is resided by 0.92 inches external display with 65.000 colors support and 128 x 128 pixels resolution, and camera lens right above the display. The external display shows signal strength, battery life, date and time. On the right side, there are 3.5 mm headset jack, camera shutter and microUSB charging port. Meanwhile, the right side is resided only by volume rocker. Flip open the clamshell and there are 2.25 inches internal display supports 260.000 colors and 320 x 240 pixels resolution, as well as navigation array and alphanumerical keypad. The navigation array consists of two soft keys, a diamond toggle with middle OK key, a Call key, a Back key and an End Call or Power key.
Samsung M360 runs on dual band CDMA (850/1900 MHz) network with EV-DO Rev 0 data network. Browsing internet can be done using Access NetFront 3.5.1 browser supports WAP/xHTML. The web browser manages to load WAP web pages but hardly works with more complex web pages such as HTML web pages. Other connectivity available on Samsung M360 includes Bluetooth, microUSB connection and GPS navigation system.
Samsung M360 comes with minimum multimedia feature; it has no music player, no video player, and no camcorder. It is only equipped by 1.3 megapixels camera that can capture images in four resolutions and three quality settings. Other camera features are white-balance modes, brightness settings, color effects, shooting modes, self timer, 10 x zoom options, and shutter sounds. Unfortunately, the camera cannot record videos. For storage, Samsung M360 only provides 1.5 MB of free internal memory without memory card slot.
Samsung M360 provides phonebook that can save up to 600 entries; each may consist of six phone numbers, an email address, a street address, a birthday, a job title, a company, picture caller ID, ringtone ID and notes. You may also assign contacts to caller groups. Messaging features include text messaging (SMS) in threaded view and multimedia messaging (MMS). There are no email or IM clients but that is not a major loss as it is merely a basic phone. Notification alerts provided are Polyphonic ringtones, Vibration mode, Silent mode, and Speakerphone. Organizer feature comes with Samsung M360 include Calendar, Alarm, and Calculator. To support it features, Samsung M360 uses standard battery Li-ion 1000 mAh that is rated up to 6.2 hours of talk time or 254 hours of standby time.
