Following the success of the best-selling Samsung Focus last year, Samsung together with AT&T comes back with its new Windows Phone namely Samsung Focus Flash. It can be the next best-selling phone since it is powered with massive features includes latest class of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS, 1.4 GHz processor, 5 MP camera, Super AMOLED touch screen and many more. In details, let’s have a look at the review below.
Samsung Focus Flash
Samsung Focus Flash appears as a candy bar and full touchscreen phone with tapered back panel, black glossy plastic, squared-off edges, and a glass display. The phone is compact and lightweight measuring 116.1 x 58.7 x 11 mm and weighing 116.2 grams. Located on the front is 3.7 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen (480 x 800 pixels resolution). The display looks clear, sharp and bright with rich colors, and wide viewing angles. Below the display, there are three key; a physical Start button in the middle and two capacitive keys around it for Back and Search function. Above the display, there is a front facing camera. Around the phone side are a camera shutter that is also functioned to wake up the phone, Power button, Volume rocker, 3.5 mm headset jack, Microphone, Noise Cancellation Microphone, and microUSB port. On the back, there are 5 megapixels camera with LED flash and speakerphone.
Samsung Focus Flash is powered by Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS with Metro User Interface. Furthermore, it is also powered by a single-core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor with 512 MB RAM. Those features do a great job delivering a responsive and fast loading access without any lag even in multitasking performance.
Samsung Focus Flash runs on AT&T GSM network and already supports HSDPA up to 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA up to 5.76 Mbps data network. For internet experience, there is Internet Explorer with HTML support. The phone also has other connectivity such as aGPS, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, Wi-Fi, and microUSB connection.
Come to camera feature, Focus Flash is equipped by two cameras; a front facing VGA camera and a 5 megapixels main camera with autofocus and LED flash. The photo result from the main camera is about average; quite good in sufficient outdoor lighting but fairly bad in weak indoor lighting. The main camera can also record video in 720p resolution at 30 fps. To store data, there is 8 GB internal memory available. No microSD slot available but don’t worry as Focus Flash provides 25 GB of free online file storage through SkyDrive.
For multimedia features, there are Stereo FM radio with RDS and Windows Media Player for playing music and video. The media player is also supported by Zune and Zune Pass integration and music-mixing DJ feature. Messaging features include SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Mail, Instant Messaging, and RSS. And, there are still lots more features including pre-loaded Windows Mobile application as well as its basic features.
Lastly, Samsung Focus Flash is supported by standard battery Li-Ion 1500 mAh. The battery life is rated up to 6 hours 30 minutes of talk time or up to 250 hours of standby time.
