Pantech Link II Review

After its first attempt releasing Pantech Link, Pantech comes back with its sequel, Pantech Link II. Released with improvement in all field, the phone brings a better experience than its predecessor. In details, let’s take a look at review and specification of the phone below.

Pantech Link II

Basically, Pantech Link II looks similar to its predecessor Pantech Link; a candy bar design with portrait QWERTY keyboard. It measures 114 x 61 x 10 mm and weighs 94 grams. The display features 2.4 inches TFT display with 320 x 240 pixels resolution and 256K colors support. Although the display is not the best one, images look clear and bright for such a basic phone. Below the display, there are navigation array and 4 rows of QWERTY keyboard. The navigation array consists of two soft buttons, a speakerphone button, a back button, a call button, an end call or power button, and a square toggle with middle OK button – Pantech Link has a rounded toggle. Volume rocker is placed on the right side while a microUSB or charger port and a camera shutter are on the left side. The back side features camera lens and speakerphone.

Pantech Link II runs on GSM network and already supports HSDPA data network.  Similar to its predecessor, Link II also have two web browser with WAP 2.0/xHTML, and HTML support; Opera Mini as default browser and built-in web browser. Still it is better for you to use Opera Mini Web browser in surfing internet. Other connectivity includes aGPS navigation system, Bluetooth and microUSB connection.

Pantech Link II is also equipped with better camera than its predecessor. The camera comes in 2 megapixels and can capture up to four resolutions. Camera features include white balance settings, color effects, a self-timer, 2x digital zoom and an adjustable brightness meter. The camera can also record video in two resolutions (320 x 240 pixels and 176 x 144 pixels). For the storage, Link II gets improvement with 200 MB internal memory and additional external memory up to 32 GB via microSD card.

For multimedia features, there are built-in music player and video player. The music player supports music in MP3/WAV/eAAC+/WMA formats and comes with easy navigation. Meanwhile, the video player can play video in MP4/H.263/WMV formats.

As a messaging phone, Link II gives its best messaging experience through its QWERTY keyboard as well its messaging features support text messaging (SMS), multimedia messaging (MMS), Instant Messaging and Email. the phonebook can save up to 1000 entries, each may consist of multiple phone numbers, a company name and title,  a nickname, an email, a mailing address, a birthday, a photo caller ID and notes. You can also assign each entry with one of eight polyphonic ringtones or eight alert tones. Other features include Organizer, Voice Memo, speakerphone, Games, and Java support. Last but not least, Pantech Link II is powered by standard battery Li-Ion 1000 mAh. The battery life is rated up to 3 hours of talk time or up to 250 hours of standby time.
