LG Enlighten is a great beginner smart phone with touch and type experience. LG Enlighten comes with a full touch screen and slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The phone’s body is covered by black color with smoke-gray chrome border around the edge of the display, and soft-touch matte finished on the back. The phone dimension measures 114 x 58 x 15 mm and weighing 157 grams. On the front, there is 3.2 inches capacitive touch screen supports 256K colors. The display comes with multitouch feature and proximity sensor that can turn the display off when it is next to your face during a phone call. Slide the phone to the right to reveal 4 rows QWERTY keyboard with dedicated number keys on the top row. The keys are arranged individually with plenty of spacing in between each key to make it easier when typing.
LG Enlighten is supported by Android OS v2.3 (Gingerbread) and 800 MHz Qualcomm processor. For the interface, Enlighten is using LG’s custom user interface. On the interface, you will see seven pages of Home screen with four colorful icons on the bottom for accessing the phone, contacts, messaging and applications. It also come with widgets, some of them are calendar, clock, Google search, messaging, music, new & weather, pictures, power control, and traffic widgets.
LG Enlighten runs on CDMA network and already supports EVDO Rev. A up to 3.1 Mbps data network. Internet surfing is experienced by using standard WebKit web browser that do good job in loading and rendering web pages even the complex one. LG Enlighten also comes with other connectivity such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth v3.0, and microUSB connection as well as GPS navigation system with A-GPS support.
LG Enlighten is also equipped by 3.15 megapixels camera with autofocus. The camera interface comes in a very simple interface and some camera setting such as scene modes, resolutions, ISO, white balance, and color effects. The camera can also record video limited to VGA 640 x 480 pixels resolution at 20 fps, which results in average detail and rough motion. For storage, there is 150 MB internal memory and additional external memory via microSD card up to 32 GB. The multimedia feature of LG Enlighten is also pretty basic, but does a great job as well. It can play music and video as well.
LG Enlighten messaging features include SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Email, and Instant Messaging. Other features includes SNS integration, Document viewer, Image viewer/editor, Organizer, Voice memo/dial/commands, Java MIDP emulator, and Accelerometer. As an Android smart phone, Enlighten comes with pre-loaded Google service application such as Gmail, Google Search with voice, Maps, Google Talk, Latitude, Places, and YouTube. If those applications did not satisfy you enough, there are still thousand more applications waiting to be downloaded via Android Market.
Last but not least, LG Enlighten is powered by standard battery Li-Ion 1540 mAh. The battery life is rated up to 6 hours of talk time or up to 810 hours of standby time.
