Comes with full touch screen and slide out QWERTY keyboard, Samsung Reality brings up an easy way to keep in touch with your favorite social networking as well as via text messaging. Samsung Reality SCH-U820 comes with full touchscreen and candybar design plus a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The phone measures 4.2 x 2.1 x 0.7 inches and weighs 4 ounces. The front side of the phone is occupied by 3 inches resistive touchscreen (240 x 400 pixels resolution) and three physical buttons of Call, Back, and End Call (Power) right below the screen. On the left side, there are Volume Control Keys, Charger port and Screen Lock Key while the right side are microSD card slot, voice command key, speakerphone key and camera shutter. On top of the phone, there is a 3.5 mm headset jack. Camera and self-portrait mirror is placed on the back. Slide the phone to the right to see four rows QWERTY keyboard and the screen will automatically change to landscape view.
For interface, Samsung Reality SCH-U820 uses TouchWiz User Interface. There are 3 different pages of Home screen that be personalized by drag and drop shortcuts from collapsible TouchWiz tray on the left side of Home screen. On the bottom of each Home screen, there are a row consists of phone dialer, contact list, messaging menu and main menu shortcut. You also have an option to personalize the man menu.
For messaging features, Samsung Reality SCH-U820 brings up its best features. It has text messaging with threaded view, multimedia messaging, voice messaging, instant messaging and email. Instant Messaging services include AIM, Windows Live, and Yahoo! Messenger. As for email, there are three options available; mobile email, corporate email, and mobile Web email. Samsung Reality runs on dual-band EV-DO Rev 0 (850/1900 MHz) network. There is Reality's Polaris 6.2 browser supports HTML for internet browsing. Other connectivity includes Bluetooth and GPS navigation system.
Samsung Reality is also equipped by 3.2 megapixels camera that can capture image in eight different resolutions, from 320x240 pixels resolution up to 2.048x1.536 pixels resolution. The camera settings includes image quality setting, self timer, night mode, color effect, white balance presets, and many more. The camera can also record videos in 640 x 480 pixels resolution at 15 fps. The video setting is similar to camera settings. For multimedia, there is media player available for playing music and video. The music player supports V Cast Music with Rhapsody service that allows you to download songs. Reality provides additional external memory up to 16 GB via microSD card.
Samsung Reality SCH-U820 can save up to 1000 entries of phonebook, each entry consists of five numbers, two emails addresses, IM account, two street addresses, birthday, notes, company title and picture ID. Some basic features of Samsung Reality includes vibrate mode, speakerphone, calendar, alarm, world clock, stopwatch, timer, calculator, notepad, and sketchpad as well as voice command and document viewer. Samsung Reality SCH-U820 battery life is rated up to 5 hours of talk time and 12.5 days of standby time.
