Earlier this year, Sony Ericsson released Xperia Neo that seems less popular. This time, Sony Ericsson comes back with upgraded version of Xperia Neo namely Xperia Neo V. Lots of improvement has been made compared to its predecessor. How the performance of the phone is, let’s have a closer look at the details and specification of the phone below.
Xperia Neo V comes with a full touch screen and design. The phone measures 116 x 57 x 13 mm and weighs 126 grams. The front side is housed by 3.7 inches capacitive touch screen supports 16M colors, three physical buttons below the screen as well as VGA front camera, and earpiece above the screen. The screen is very bright and clear, thanks to Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology. On the top of the phone sits a mini HDMI port, a 3.5 mm headset jack and a micro USB port. The left side, there are screen Lock/Power button, Volume control keys and camera shutter. On the side are a camera with LED flash, a Sony Ericsson logo and a speakerphone.
Xperia Neo V is supported by Android OS v2.3.4 (Gingerbread) with Timescape User Interface. The user interface is attractive and easy to use. Application runs smoothly, even heavy game works well without lag thanks to its 1 GHz Scorpion processor with Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon and 512 MB RAM.
Xperia Neo V runs on quad band GSM and HSDPA network and already supports HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA up to 5.76 Mbps data connectivity. The internet browsing is well provided by Android web browser supports HTML and Adobe Flash. Other connectivity includes WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, DLNA, Bluetooth and microUSB as well as GPS navigation system with A-GPS support.
NeoV is also equipped by two cameras; a VGA camera in front of the phone for video calling, and 5 megapixels main camera on the back with autofocus and LED flash. The main camera can capture images up to 2592 х 1944 pixels resolution. Camera features includes touch focus, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, and 3D sweep panorama as well as other standard camera settings. The camera can also record videos of 720p at 30 frames per second. For video recording, the camera supports continuous autofocus, video light, and video stabilization. For the storage, there are 320 MB internal memory and additional external memory up to 32 GB via microSD card.
For multimedia, Neo V is supported by built in Sony Ericsson media player customize to Android. The audio quality is great and there is Equalizer presets to enhance the audio quality as well. The music player can play music of MP3/WMA/WAV/eAAC formats. Furthermore, Sony has also provided TrackID music recognition via FM radio. The video player features is not powerful as the music player, but it can be rescued by downloading video player application via Android market such as MoboPlayer or RockPlayer. The phone can read video of MP4/H.264/WMV formats.
Messaging features of Xperia Neo V include SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Email, and IM. Other features available are SNS integration, Document viewer, Organizer, and Voice memo/dial/commands. There is also accelerometer for auto rotate and multi touch input facility as well as proximity sensor for auto turnoff the phone.
To power its great features, Xperia Neo V uses standard battery, Li-Po 1500 mAh. It is rated for up to 7 hours (3G) of talk time or up to 400 hours (3G) of standby time.
