LG VN150, an Entry-Level Phone for Verizon

LG VN150 is an entry-level phone developed by LG for Verizon Wireless. The phone is dedicated for those who just need basic features of a phone with some extra features. In details, let’s see the review below.


It comes with clamshell designs with plastic material cover. It is measuring 3.78 x 1.95 x 0.72 inches and weighing 3.42 oz. The front side of the phone (clamshell closed), there are 0.98 inches monochrome STN (96 x 64 pixels) external display, and 1.3 megapixels camera. The external displays shows signal strength, battery life, caller ID, date and time. On the left side, there are 2.5 mm headset jack, volume controls and microUSB charging port. The right side is camera shutter. Flip open the clamshell and there is 2 inches LCD screen (176 x 220 pixels resolution). Below the screen there are navigation array and alphanumeric keypad. The navigation array consists of two soft keys, square toggle with middle OK key, speakerphone key, Clear/Voice command key, Call key and End Call (Power)key.

As an entry-level phone, LG VN150 screen is very bright and colorful as it supports 262.000 colors. The interface can be customized by changing its banner, backlight time, brightness, type and size of the font, menu layout, wallpaper, display theme and internal clock.

LG VN150 runs on Verizon dual band CDMA network and supports EVDO 1xRTT data connectivity. The reception is very good and voice quality is clean and natural. For internet browsing experience, there is built-in Myriad 6.2 browser supports WAP page available. Other connectivity includes Bluetooth v2.1 with EDR and GPS navigation system with VZ Navigator support.

LG VN150 is equipped by 1.3 megapixels camera with no flash. The camera features include three different resolutions, 2x zoom, image editor, night mode, noise reduction, brightness, white balance, and color effects as well as three shutter sounds plus a silent option. For storage, VN150 has 79 MB of internal memory. LG VN150 also has 2.5mm headphone jack that is only functioned for mono, hands-free earbuds, since there's no music player on board.

LG VN150 can save 1000 entries of phonebook; each may consist of five phone numbers, two email addresses, IM account, street address, photo caller ID, ringtone ID and notes. Basic features of LG VN150 include alarm clock, world clock, to-do list, calendar, calculator, stopwatch, notepad, voice dialing, voice recording, and flight mode. For messaging features, LG VN150 has text messaging, multimedia messaging and Instant Messaging, as well as email. It also comes with two games; Sudoku Deluxe and Uno. For supporting the features, LG VN150 uses standard battery 1000 mAh. It is rated up to 7 hours (420 minutes) of talk time or 630 hours (26 days) of standby time.

Overall, VN150 offers great performance as an entry-level phone. The phone makes phone calls its no. 1 priority with some extra features such as messaging, Bluetooth, and 1.3 megapixels camera.
