Preliminary Specification of Samsung Exhilarate

Strengthening its 4G LTE’s line, Samsung together with AT&T recently announced its new phone namely Samsung Exhilarate. It is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2012 in affordable price under $50 (likely to be $49.99) with a 2 year contract by AT&T. As the phone has not been released yet, the exact detail specification of the phone isn’t made official yet. In the meantime, here is the preliminary specification of the phone that is possible to be featured.

Samsung Exhilarate appears with a full touch screen design. Its chassis is constructed from 80 percent recycled post-consumer materials. The chassis itself get Platinum certification from UL Environment as it successfully meets a number of sustainability standard and eco-green concepts. The front side is resided by an earpiece, an indicator light, a front facing camera, a touch screen, and four touch-sensitive keys. The touch screen is possible to be 4 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen with 16M colors support. Four touch-sensitive keys below the screen appear like any other Android phone which is functioned as Menu, Home, Back and Search keys. The back side is resided by camera lens, LED flash and speakerphone. Exact information on around the phone’s side is still unknown yet.

Samsung Exhilarate

Samsung Exhilarate runs on AT&T’s GSM, HSDPA and LTE network. One of its main features is its high speed data connectivity that is supported by AT&T’s 4G LTE data network. The web browser for internet experience already supports HTML and Adobe Flash. Means that you will have an internet experience like in your PC and you will be able to watch video directly on YouTube website. Other connectivity provided includes WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth with A2DP, and micro USB v2.0 connection. There is also GPS navigation system with A-GPS support.

Samsung Exhilarate will be powered by Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread). As for its processor, there is no exact information of how powerful it will be. The interface is likely to use the TouchWiz User Interface. Messaging feature of Samsung Exhilarate includes text messaging (SMS) in threaded view, multimedia messaging (MMS), Instant Messaging, Email, Push Mail, and RSS feeds.

Come to camera, Samsung Exhilarate is equipped by two cameras; a front facing camera and a main camera located on the back. The main camera also functions as a camcorder. To store data, there is internal memory available and additional external memory via microSD card up to 32 GB. Samsung Exhilarate will also provide multimedia features such as stock Android media player for playing music and video. It is support music in MP3/WAV/eAAC+ formats and video in MP4/WMV/H.264/H.263 formats.

As an Android phone, Samsung Exhilarate will surely come with pre-loaded Google service application such as Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, and Picasa integration. You can still add another Android application by downloading them via Android Market. Other features that might provided are Active noise cancellation with dedicated microphone, SNS integration, Organizer, Image and video editor, Document viewer, Voice memo, Voice dial, Voice commands, Voice recording, Java MIDP emulator, Accelerometer sensor, Proximity sensor and Loudspeaker. Exact battery type and timing of Samsung Exhilarate is not known yet. Hopefully, it will come with powerful battery in order to bring up maximum performance.
