Designed for Verizon Wireless, Samsung released its entry-level phone named Samsung Sway SCH-U650. It comes with slim and light slider phone with silver finishing along with good features. How this entry-level phone sways its user, let’s take a look at review below.
Samsung Sway SCH-U650 comes with slim and light slider design measuring at 10.67 x 5.08 x 1.27 cm and weighing at 102.1 grams. The phone fits well in hand and the slider mechanism is great. The front side of the phone is housed by 2.2 inches LCD screen (240 x 320 pixels) support 262K colors. Below the screen, there is navigation array consists of four way navigation button with OK button in the middle, two soft button, Call button, Clear button, and End (Power) button. Slide up the phone, and there is alphanumeric keypad. On the left side of the phone, there are volume control buttons and headset jack or charger port while on the right side, there are camera shutter and microSD card slot. On the back of the slider, there are 2 megapixels camera, self-portrait mirror and speakerphone.
Samsung Sway SCH-U650 runs on CDMA 800/1900 MHz network and supports EV-DO rev.A for data connectivity. Experiencing internet connectivity, there is built-in web browser supports WAP 2.0, xHTML. Other connectivity is Bluetooth that supports mono and stereo headsets, handsfree devices, serial ports, vCard and vCalendar and phonebook access.
For the interface, Samsung Sway SCH-U650 comes with three menu style that are very attractive and user friendly. There are also options to personalize the phone. You may change the wallpaper, display themes, clock format and alert tones.
Samsung Sway is equipped by 2 megapixels camera that can capture image from 160 x 120 pixels resolution up to 1.600 x 1.200 pixels resolution. Some of camera settings include self-timer, brightness, white balance control, autoshot, multishot, night mode, and digital zoom. The image quality is pretty good, and sharp. The camera can also record videos. To store data, Samsung Sway has 50 MB internal memory and additional external memory via microSD card.
For multimedia features, Samsung Sway is equipped by built-in media player for playing both music and videos. The music player is integrated with VCAST Music with Rhapsody access. It allows you to download more than 5 million songs through PC and transfers it to the phone via USB connector.
Samsung Sway SCH-U650 has 1000 entries of phone books with each consists of five contact number, two email addresses, picture ID, ring ID and notes. Basic features of Samsung Sway includes an alarm, a calculator, a calendar, a currency and unit converter, a world clock, a stopwatch and a notepad. Calling notification includes polyphonic ringtones and vibrate mode. Messaging feature offers multiple messaging options with text messaging, multimedia messaging, mobile instant messaging, email (POP3/IMAP4/SMTP support) and chat. In addition, there is a Media Center access to download games, ringtones, wallpapers, location-based services and many more.
Samsung Sway SCH-U650 is supported by standard battery, Lithium Ion 800 mAh that is rated up to 4.5 hours of talk time or 312 hours (13 days) of standby time.
