As one of the big phones manufactures, Motorola is back on Android phone market with its new Motorola Atrix 2. Powered by new Android Gingerbread OS and great features, surely Atrix 2 becomes one of the great Android smartphone. How great the features are, here we have reviews and full specification of Motorola Atrix 2.
Motorola Atrix 2 comes with candybar design with rounded edges. The phone measures at 126 x 66 x 10 mm and weighs at 147 grams. The front side of the phone is housed by 4.3 inches capacitive touchscreen and 540 x 960 pixels resolution. The display is very bright and sharp, thanks to its Corning Gorilla Glass technology. Above the screen, there is a front-facing VGA camera and right below the screen, there are four touch-sensitive keys for Menu, Home, Back and Search key. On the left side, there are HDMI port and microUSB port while volume controls and camera shutter is placed on the right side. On the top, there are 3.5 mm headset jack and Power/Screen Lock button. The back side is 8 megapixels camera with LED flash.
Motorola Atrix 2 is supported by Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS with MOTOBLUR User Interfaces as well as Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processor. There are five different pages Home screen that can be personalized with various shortcuts and widgets. On the bottom of each Home screen, there are four shortcut icons for Phone Dialer, Email, Browser and Main Menu that can be customized as well. As an Android phone, Atrix 2 comes with pre-installed Google applications and services such as Google Talk, Google Search, Maps with Navigation service, Latitude, Places, Gmail, YouTube as well as social networking Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace integration. There is also third-party application along with thousands of Android application that can be downloaded via Android market. Messaging features include SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Email and IM.
Motorola Atrix 2 runs on GSM network and HSDPA network. The internet connectivity supports HSDPA up to 21 Mbps and HSUPA up to 5.76 Mbps. For browsing internet, it can be done by standard Android web browser supports HTML and Adobe Flash. Other connectivity includes microUSB port, Bluetooth and WiFi that can be functioned as a mobile Hot Spot for maximum five devices as well as GPS navigation system. Furthermore, there is a DLNA support for streaming videos or contents wirelessly.
