Designed for AT&T, LG released one of its high quality basic phone namely LG CU515. Comes with light and small clamshell design, CU515 also offers great basic features of the phone. How the overall performances are, let’s take a look at review below.
It comes with light, small and compact clamshell design measuring 96 x 49.5 x 18 mm and weighing 95 grams. On the front side of the phone (clamshell closed), there are a small monochrome external display (96 x 64 pixels, 0.98 inches) and 1.3 megapixels camera right above the external display. The external display shows date, time, battery life, signal strength, and caller ID. On the left side, there are volume control buttons and PTT button. On the right side are microSD card slot and headset/charger port. Speakerphone button is placed on the top of the phone (clamshell opened). Flip open the clamshell, there are 2 inches TFT screen (176 x 220 pixels) supports 65K colors. Below the screen there are well-designed navigation array and alphanumeric keypad. The navigation array consists of four-way toggle with a central OK button, two soft keys, a camera shortcut button, a multitask menu button, Call button, Clear button and End Call/Power button.
LG CU515 is equipped by 1.3 megapixels camera. Camera features include three quality setting, three color effects, self timer, brightness and white balance settings as well as three shutter tones. The camera can also record videos of 176 x 144 pixels resolution. For storage, LG CU515 provided 55 MB internal memory and additional external memory up to 4 GB via microSD card.
Powered by AT&T’s HSDPA network up to 3.6 Mbps, LG CU515 offers lots variety of AT&T broadband multimedia application. Cellular video offers video clip streaming from various channels such as NBC, ESPN, VH1, CNN, The Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and many more.
There is an also integrated MobiTV application as well. For music, CU515 offers AT&T Music application that supports XM Radio Mobile, a Billboard Mobile channel, a Music ID application, and a community section. The music player interface come with basic and limited feature of standard AT&T music player.
Messaging features of LG CU515 include SMS, EMS, MMS, and Email. For internet connectivity there is built-in web browser support WAP 2.0/xHTML. Other connectivity includes Bluetooth and USB connection.
LG CU515 can save 500 entries of phonebook, each consist of five phone numbers, two email addresses, notes and ringtone ID as well as photo ID (remember that the photo Id won’t appear on the external display). Sound alerts type include Vibration, Downloadable polyphonic, and MP3 ringtones.
