Strengthen its position as one of biggest phone manufacture, LG continuously develops its phone in all level. For its entry-level phone, LG comes back with its new and fresh phone namely LG A230. Powered by dual SIM card support and some improvements, the phone appears to be one of the reliable entry-level phones. In details, here is review of LG A230.
Not much to be said about LG A230 as it comes with a very simple design and basic features. Simple since it is designed in basic candybar phone measuring 108.8 x 46.6 x 13.9 mm. The phone is also light as it weighs only 83 grams. The phone is covered by fine black plastic material with rounded edges. On the front side, there is 1.77 inches TFT screen with 128 x 160 pixels resolution. Below the screen sits navigation array and alphanumeric keypad. The navigation array consists of two soft key, a Call key, an End Call or Power key and four way toggle key with OK button in the middle. The typing experience is pretty good on its keypad since it comes with rubbery and soft buttons. Above the screen is only decorated by an earpiece and a LG logo. The right side is left naked while on the left side, there is a micro SD card slot. Not to mention 1.3 megapixels camera on the back side of the phone.
An appealing feature you may expect from LG A230 is its dual SIM cards feature. The phone runs on two GSM networks which lets you jump from one network to another if you own two SIM cards. All you have to do is inserting both SIM cards in their slots after removing the back cover and battery of the phone. It also supports GPRS and EDGE for data connectivity. Internet browsing is available through built-in web browser supports WAP 2.0/xHTML webpage.
As a basic phone, LG A230 is also equipped with some extra features. There is 1.3 megapixels camera with no autofocus and flash. It is quite disappointing because there are so many basic phones offered higher-resolution cameras. The camera can capture images up to 1280 x 1024 pixels resolution. Camera features include standard camera setting and digital zoom. Unfortunately, it cannot record videos. For the storage, LG A230 has 25 MB internal memory. If that is not enough, there is an additional external memory up to 8 GB via microSD card.
Entertaining its user, LG A230 is also equipped by media player for playing both music (MP3) and video (MP4). Although it comes with minimal and basic feature, the media player works well to entertain its users. In addition, there are FM radio and games.
Messaging features of LG A230 include text messaging (SMS), multimedia messaging (MMS) and email. There are also widgets integrated with social networking to keep in touch with your friends. Audio notifications available are Vibration mode and MP3 ringtones.
To supports all of its performance, LG A230 uses standard battery Li-Ion 950 mAh. The battery is rated up to 480 minutes of talk time.
