For those who rather not be bothered by a two-year contract from US carriers, Apple has officially started selling Apple iPhone 4S unlocked version on its Web site. It is more expensive compared to iPhone 4S with contract, but that is the price for the freedom we get.
It comes with Black and White colors. The price starts from $785 for 16GB iPhone 4S. The 32GB version of iPhone 4S unlocked is $870 and the 64GB version is $1,110.
Apple iPhone 4S unlocked version is identical to Apple iPhone 4S locked version. But, there are features that differentiate those two phones. As it is unlocked version, you may choose any carriers that suit you best. Furthermore, Apple iPhone 4S runs on either GSM or CDMA networks, but in this Unlocked version, Apple iPhone 4S is only compatible with GSM network. The phone comes with no number and micro SIM card. To start using the unlocked version of iPhone 4S, you just insert a micro-SIM card, available from any local GSM carrier. Freedom in choosing any carriers of GSM network also means that you can use the phone travel around the globe, without network limitations.
