Since it first released together with iPhone back in 2007, iPhone dock is obviously a noteworthy accessory. Since Apple iPhone 4/4S is already released, so does the iPhone 4/4S dock. The dock becomes noticeable when you want to use your iPhone with computer or stereos and be satisfied with a clean design and easy mounting.
At first, iPhone dock is bundled with iPhone package sell. Then, it is pulled off from the package sell of the next iPhone generation. It is done to give a less expensive package sell. The dock of iPhone 3 and 3G are released in small size, very much different from its predecessors. Now, there is iPhone 4/4S dock which has remarkably dropped even further in size but still preserves the same functionality and pricing as its predecessors. Being smaller from its predecessor is not a shocking event as Apple is very fond of making its devices as small as possible. Together with the iPhone 4/4S itself, the dock is claimed to be the tiniest iPhone dock to date.
The dock comes with a footprint of 2.38 x 1.68 inches, small enough as a dock. Only a few inches can be seen off to the sides and front of the iPhone 4, with around 1.2 inches of plastic at the back to support the device as it rests. On the back side, there are two ports; a Dock connector cable port and a 3.5 mm audio cable port. The bottom side is decorated with a soft rubber pad to keep it from slipping on flat surface. The dock’s sales package ships without other items, means that you have to supply the synchronizing, charging, audio, or video accessories you want to use with it by yourself.
iPhone 4/4S Dock
For time being, there is no significant problems appeared as iPhone 4/4S dock works well on the most commonly attached electronic accessories – charging, synchronizing, video and audio cables. In other hand, Apple is also persistent in using its own cables to connect to computer and AV system which work without complaint. But then, everything is still on the user preferences. The users tend to use the Dock to be attached to home stereo system due to its high quality output. It provides a better sounding and more stable mounting solution than using audio cable to the iPhone 4/4S headphone port.
There are also some important differences between iPhone 4/4S dock and Universal Docks. The port-out line become fixed rather variable as seen in Universal dock. There is also no IR sensor included, sometimes enabling remote control to change volume levels. The iPhone 4/4S dock is also designed with a bottom mounted speakerphone; small grid inside the dock that match the iPhone’s mesh panels of microphone and speaker. There is also a wave finished on the dock’s bottom that lets audio flow out and in without distortion.
Overall, the iPhone 4/4S Dock is a noteworthy accessory for your iPhone 4/4S. It is electronically as solid as its predecessors, and its small design makes it even easier to locate on a desk, nightstand, or next to a stereo system.
