Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Review

Following the success of original Galaxy Tab’s line, Samsung released its new tablets under the name of Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. It is released to fulfill consumers need of smaller and lighter tablet, which they can bring anywhere with ease. In details, here is the review of Galaxy Tab 7.7 by Samsung.

It can be said that Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is the little one among its Galaxy Tab’s siblings as it is measuring only 196.7 x 133 x 7.9 mm and weighing 340 grams. It is covered with a stylish mixture of real brushed metal and plastic on the back cover bringing more elegant feel. Implies from its name, the display features 7.7 inches capacitive touchscreen. Thanks to its Super AMOLED Plus technology screen along with 16M colors supports, the display looks very clear, bright and sharp with amazingly deep contrasts and lots of lively colors. Those are also supported by its perfect 800 x 1280 pixels resolution. Above the screen, there are 2 megapixels front-facing camera, a proximity sensor and an earpiece. The left side of the phone features microSD card slot while the right side features volume rocker keys and Power or Lock key. The bottom side is resided by dual speakers with Samsung's synchronizing and charging port in the middle. A 3.5 mm headset jack houses the top side of the phone. On the back, there are camera lens and LED flash.

Galaxy Tab 7.7 is an Android tablet running on Android OS, v3.2 (Honeycomb) and using TouchWiz UX User Interface. Its user interface may not bring up wow effects but it offers a friendlier tablet look. Under the hood, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is powered by Dual-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 processor with Exynos chipset and 1 GB RAM.

In term of connectivity, Galaxy Tab 7.7 runs on GSM network for calling features. It also supports HSDPA up to 21 Mbps and HSUPA up to 5.76 Mbps data network. As a tablet, Galaxy Tab 7.7 surely brings up great web browsing experience through its stock Android web browser with HTML and Adobe Flash supports. In addition, Galaxy Tab 7.7 also supports messaging features such as SMS (threaded view), MMS, IM, Email, and Push Email. Other connectivity includes WiFi, WiFi hotspot, infrared port, Bluetooth, and USB v2.0 as well as GPS navigation system.

Two cameras also equip Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7; a 2 megapixels camera for video calls and self-portrait and a 3.15 megapixels main camera with autofocus and LED flash located on the backside. The main camera manages to capture images up to 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution on great qualities. The main camera can also be functioned to record video up to 720p resolution at 30 fps. In multimedia features, Galaxy Tab 7.7 features media player for playing music and video. In addition, the music player comes with Music Hub integration that allows you to purchase music. The video player manages to play various video formats up to HD 1080p resolution video. To store data, there is additional external memory via microSD card up to 32 GB along with its internal memory of 16/32/64 GB.

Other features include pre-loaded Google service applications, Image and video editor, Quickoffice HD editor and viewer, Voice memo/dial, Java MIDP emulator, SNS integration, TV Out, Organizer, and Accelerometer. Supporting all its features, the battery features powerful Li-Po 5100 mAh battery.
