Strengthening its G’zOne’s line, Casio released its durable phone namely Casio G'zOne Ravine C751 for Verizon Wireless. Ravine is powered by rugged Military certificated chassis, 3.2MP camera, music player, GPS, PTT support and many more. In details, let’s have a look at the review below.
Casio G'zOne Ravine C751
Unlike its most predecessors, Casio G'zOne Ravine C751 appears with a clamshell design and rugged material chassis from hardened plastics and rubber. Its chassis also get Military certification for resistant to conditions of water, shock, dust, immersion, vibration, humidity, salt fog, solar radiation, altitude, and low and high temperatures. Located on the front (clamshell closed) is 1.35 inches external display showing date, time, signal strength, and battery life as well as notification of incoming calls or text messages. Exploring the phone’s side, there are volume rocker, voice command key, PTT key, 2.5 mm headset jack, and microUSB port. On the back side, there are 3.2 megapixels camera and LED flash. Flip open the clamshell to reveal the 2.2 inches TFT internal display with 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 65K colors support. Below the internal display are navigation array and alphanumerical keypad with white backlit.
Come to its interface, there is nothing special about it as it is arranged in typical Verizon’s phone. Main Menu is categorized in media center, contacts, messaging, recent calls, and settings & tools. The Phonebook can save up to 1000 entries; each may consist of a name, four phone numbers, two email addresses, an IM screen name, a street address, ringtone ID and picture caller ID. You may also assign each entry to caller groups or one of 999 speed-dial locations. There is also separate Push-to-Talk list that holds up to 500 entries.
Designed as a rugged and durable phone, Ravine is surely dedicated for those who like travelling or outdoor activities. For that reason, Ravine is equipped by G’zGear application located in the Tools menu. The application provides Earth Compass, World Nature, Walking Counter, Tides, Current View, Sunrise/Sunset time, Lunar Phase, Cosmic View, and Star Gazer sky map. All those program help you keep in track while doing outdoor activities.
Ravine is also equipped by 3.2 megapixels camera with LED flash. The camera can also record video but limited to 320 x 240 pixels resolution at 15 fps. For storage, Ravine provides 235 MB internal memory but only 197 MB is available to the user. There is also additional external memory via microSD card up to 32 GB. For multimedia feature, there is media player for playing music and video.
Ravine is a CDMA phone and supported by EV-DO Rev.A data network. Internet browsing can be done using built-in web browser with HTML support. Other connectivity includes Bluetooth, microUSB connection and GPS navigation system with A-GPS support. Messaging features of Casio G'zOne Ravine C751 include text messaging (SMS), multimedia messaging (MMS), Instant Messaging and Email (POP or IMAP accounts). There is also Verizon’s Social Beat application that provides access to your social media networking such as Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter. Last, Casio G'zOne Ravine C751 is powered by standard battery Li-ion 1140 mAh that is rated up to 5 hours of talk time or up to 490 hours of standby time.
