Samsung T404G, a Basic Phone With Slide QWERTY Keyboard

Keep footing its position in the entry level phone market, Samsung released its basic phone namely Samsung T404G. Although it comes as an entry level and basic phone, it is equipped with two keyboards to give full texting experience along with other great features. Closer look, here is the review and detail specification of the phone.

Samsung T404G comes with a side slider design measuring 114 x 51 x 15 mm and weighing 129 grams. It arrives with two keyboards (Alphanumerical keyboard and Full QWERTY keyboard) to give the best performance of texting. On the front side, there is 2.2 inches screen with 240 x 320 pixels resolution. Right above the screen are the navigation array and alphanumerical keyboard. The navigation array consists of two soft keys, a dedicated message key, a Clear key, a circle Send key, a circle End or Power key, and a circle directional pad with OK key in the middle of it. Slide the phone to the right to reveal full QWERTY keyboards that is arranged in four rows. Each key is arranged individually in rectangular shaped and well space distance. The letters printed in orange lettering and numbers in white. The back side is resided by 2 megapixels camera without flash.

Samsung T404G runs on dual band GSM network with EDGE data network support. It has web browser with WAP/xHTML supports to experience internet. Unfortunately, the browser hasn’t been supported by Flash so you can’t view YouTube videos or any Flash-based site directly. Other connectivity includes Bluetooth and microUSB connection. Being equipped with two keyboards, surely T404G is dedicated to give best performance in texting. Texting will be much easier and faster by using QWERTY keyboard. Messaging features of Samsung T404G are text messages (SMS), multimedia messages (MMS), and email. Couples of Messaging shortcuts are also provided on the phone. Start composing message, you can press the Up key on the circular d-pad or press the dedicated message key that comes with an envelope icon. You may also re-assign the dedicated message key to open inbox instead of composing a message.

Come to camera, Samsung T404G is equipped by 2 megapixels camera with no flash. The camera can also be functioned as a camcorder but limited to 176 x 144 pixels QCIF resolution in MP4 format. Storing the data, Samsung T404G is supported by 40 MB internal memory and additional external memory via microSD up to 16 GB. For multimedia feature, T404G comes with media player for playing music and video. The media player interface is equipped with standard function and appearance.

Organizer feature of Samsung T404G includes Calendar, Notes, Alarm Clock, World Time, Calculator, Stop Watch, Converter, Tip Calculator and Timer. Other features are up to 1000 entries of Phonebook, Speakerphone, Video Recording, Games and Java supports. Lastly, Samsung T404G is powered by standard battery Li-Ion 1000 mAh. The battery life is rated up to 7 hours of talk time or up to 14.5 days of standby time.
