LG 900G, a Messaging Phone for Net10

Targeting those messaging lover, LG released its messaging phone for prepaid Net10 carrier under the name of LG 900G. Although, it appears like a smartphone or BlackBerry handset, it doesn’t come up with smartphone’s superb and complicated features. It can be said that it is merely a basic phone with QWERTY keyboard to ease messaging feature. Aside its main messaging features, it also comes with web-enabled feature, camera, multimedia, Bluetooth and many more. Given below is the detail specification of the phone for your reference.

LG 900G

LG 900G comes with a candybar design with full QWERTY keyboard in portrait mode. It is feels compact on hand measuring 3.3 x 1.7 x 0.9 inches and weighing 3.4 ounces. The display on the front side features 2.5 inches LCD screen with 320 x 240 pixels resolution.  Below the screen are navigation array and QWERTY keyboard. Navigation array is arranged within 3 circular spots while QWERTY keyboard comes in four rows keyboard. The back side is resided by camera lens, camera mirror and speakerphone.

LG 900G comes as a prepaid phone running on Net10’s GSM network. In data connectivity, LG 900G can only hit GPRS and EDGE data network. With those data support, the web browser admits of opening web pages in WAP 2.0/xHTML and HTML formats. Unfortunately, it doesn’t feature WiFi but there is still other connectivity including Bluetooth and microUSB v2.0 connection. LG 900G is not an Android-based smartphone so don’t expect too much. However, its proprietary OS brings up smooth performance almost without lag even in multitasking performance. Some may be disappointed by the phone because of its less features as well as simple interface but in some sort, the phone brings up a feel like you own a smart phone.

For camera feature, LG 900G is equipped by 2 megapixels camera. However, it doesn’t come with autofocus and flash – there is only camera mirror. It is also capable for recording video but limited only in QVGA resolution at 15 fps. For storage, it provides additional external memory via microSD card along with its internal memory. In multimedia features, LG 900G is supported by built-in media player for playing music and video, not to mention its FM radio supports. To be able to listen to radio, you have to plug in the headset to the phone - it has no internal antenna yet.

As mention above, LG 900G is surely a messaging feature phone dedicated for messaging loves as it comes with full QWERTY keyboard. The messaging feature includes text messaging (SMS) and multimedia messaging (MMS). Organizer feature coming with LG 900G include alarm, calendar, reminder, calculator, world clock, stopwatch, and unit converter. You may download other applications but only those with Java script. Other features are 1.000 entries of Phonebook, call waiting, speakerphone, voice mail, voice recorder, and games. Last but not least, it is supported with powerful Li-Ion battery that is rated up to 6 hours or talk time or up to 16 days of standby time.
