Another basic messaging phone for MetroPCS, here is Huawei Pinnacle. It is not a smartphone, so do not expect much on its basic features. Key features of the phone include 2.4 inches display, 1.3 megapixels camera, Bluetooth, GPS, microSD card slot, multimedia players and organizer. In details, here is the review of Pinnacle by Huawei.
Huawei Pinnacle
Adopting RIM’s entry level BlackBerry smartphone, Huawei Pinnacle arrives in candybar design with full portrait QWERTY keyboard. Closer look, it is solid in build quality with smooth plastic chassis and soft touch finished in the backside. It also manages to keep its compact body measuring 110 x 61 x 13 mm and weighing 100 grams. The display on the front side comes in 2.4 inches TFT display that packs in 320 x 240 pixels resolution and 262k color supports. Below the display are navigation array and QWERTY keyboard. Navigation array comprises of two soft keys, a speakerphone key, a back key, a circular directional pad on the middle of navigation array as well as a Call and an End Call or Power key on either side of navigation array. Beneath the navigation array is full QWERTY keyboard in portrait mode and arranged in four rows. Around the phone side, there are volume rocker keys, 3.5 mm headset jack, and microUSB port. The backside is resided by camera lens and speakerphone.
Although it resembles BlackBerry smartphone design, Huawei Pinnacle is not a smartphone. It comes as a basic messaging phone with basic features as well. However, Pinnacle is still supported by Qualcomm QSC6055 processor. In connectivity, Huawei Pinnacle operates under MetroPCS’s CDMA (800, 1900 MHz) network and manages to get support of CDMA 1xRTT data network. For browsing internet, it has Opera mobile web browser with HTML supports. Due to its slow data network, opening HTML web pages are likely to be a frustrating experience. It also comes with other connectivity including Bluetooth and microUSB connection as well as GPS navigation system. Coming with full QWERTY keyboard, Huawei Pinnacle is surely dedicated for messaging lovers who like practicality and simplicity. Those messaging features include text messaging (SMS), multimedia messaging (MMS), Instant Messaging (IM) and email.
Huawei Pinnacle also comes with 1.3 megapixels camera but sadly, there is no autofocus and flash. The camera can also be functioned as a camcorder to record video in QCIF (220 x 176 pixels) resolution at 15 fps. To store data, Pinnacle provides 66 MB internal memory and additional external memory via microSD card up to 16 GB. To entertain its user, it also has music player and video player yet in basic features.
Huawei Pinnacle also comes with Organizer features such as Calendar, Alarm, Calculator, and Stopwatch. Other standard features coming with Huawei Pinnacle are 1000 entries of Phonebook, Speakerphone, Games, Voice memo, and Voice recorder. Lastly, Huawei Pinnacle is powered by standard battery Li-Ion 900 mAh that is rated up to 10.4 days of standby time or up to 4 hours of talk time.
