2012 MG6The Focus-sized, five-door MG6 is officially on sale next January with deliveries scheduled for March and prices tipped to range between £16k - £20k. A four-door follows in early 2012.
Part-designed in the UK, the MG6 will be powered by a 147bhp 1.8 turbo and is said to be capable of 120mph and 0-62mph in around nine seconds.
The engine is a third-generation version of Rover’s K-series, now re-named N-series, re-engineered with better cooling, lubrication and head gasket.
Chinese-owned MG Motor is shipping knockdown kits of the MG6 to Longbridge for assembly into finished cars.
