Back to basic, it is Samsung Jitterbug J. Basic as the phone only do basic things of a phone; calling. It is really easy to use with clear display, large font size, big keypad button and dial tone. It suits perfectly to the elderly. How does this basic and simple satisfy its user? Let’s take a look at full details of Samsung Jitterbug J below.
Samsung Jitterbug J comes up with a big rounded clamshell design, measuring at 4 x 2 x 1 inches and weighing at 4.4 ounces. On the front side, there is 1.1 inches monochrome screen as external display. It shows time, date, and caller ID. Below the screen is a rubberized volume controls. Flip open the clamshell and you will see internal display of colorful 2.5 inches screen with resolution of with 176 x 220 pixels. The interface of the screen is very simple and easy to read as it uses large font size. There is no weird wallpaper or animated menu icons appear in the screen interface. There is also no customized option to change the interface except an option to change the color of the upper and lower border. Below the screen, on the other side of phone there is big and roomy keypad. It consists of speakerphone key, Power key, Up and Down keys, Yes and No keys, and numeric keyboard.

Other basic features include 50 entries phonebook, voice mail, speakerphone that can be activated prior to call, ringtone (only seven ringtone available), and voice dialing. The voice dialing only works for contacts that has already in the phone book. You have to say the person name in the contact correctly when using voice dialing. For messaging, Jitterbug only provides simple text message both for sending and receiving text message. To send message, you can type manually using the three letters per key pad and there is an option of 20 prewritten messages.
There is also My Calendar feature to organize your schedule. One of interesting feature in the phone is the dial tone that sounds every time the flip is opened. In addition, there is Bluetooth service to use wireless headsets or other external wireless devices. The battery can last up to 3 hours of talktime and 8.3 days for standby.
Jitterbug J runs on CDMA 20001X network. The phone reception is good enough and the audio quality through earpiece and speakerphone are both loud. Don’t expect too much for pleasure in this phone. It comes up with no camera, no media player, no browser, just merely basic features.
