This time, it is Samsung Star GT-S5230 which is giving you a new experience of touchscreen phone. Let’s have a full details of Samsung GT-S5230 below.
Samsung Star GT-S5230 comes up with candybar and full touchscreen design. It measures at 104 x 53 x 11.9 mm and weighs at 93.5 grams. The body is covered with plastic material with silver metallic material around the side of the phone. The front side is housed by 3 inches resistive touchscreen (256K colors) with the resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. Above the screen, there is a speaker for both earpiece and loudspeaker. Below, there are three physical buttons; Call button, Back button and End (Power) button. On the left side of the phone, there are Volume controls and a Samsung port that is used for connecting to charger, data cable and headset. On the right side, there are Lock button and Camera shutter. The back side is 3.15 megapixels with self portrait mirror next to it.
Samsung Star GT-S5230 interface uses TouchWiz UI. The Home screen is divided in 3 separate pages where you can place widgets. You can change the wallpaper and customized the widget. Samsung star has already equipped by preloaded widgets such as Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Flickr and Picasa that are functioned no more than simply shortcuts to the corresponding websites. The Main menu is occupied with icons that are arranged in 3 x 4. Below the main menu icons, there are three shortcuts leading to keypad display, photo contacts, and widgets. For messaging, Samsung Star GT-S5230 provides SMS, MMS, and email. The input text is made by using virtual numeric keypad on portrait view, and a virtual QWERTY keypad on landscape view as well as handwriting recognition feature.
Samsung Star GT-S5230 runs on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz network with GPRS/EDGE support. For browsing internet, Samsung Star comes equipped with Samsung Mobile Browser v0.8 that supports both JAVA and Flash. The connectivity also includes Bluetooth version 2.0 and Samsung USB port.
The camera of Samsung Star GT-S5230 uses 3.15 megapixels camera (2048 x 1536 pixels) with no autofocus. The camera is equipped by lots of shooting modes. The images quality captured are very good. The camera can also record video of QVGA quality at 15 frames per second. To store the data, there is 50 MB internal memory available and if that is not enough, there is external memory available via microSD card up to 16 GB. In multimedia, Samsung is supported by media player to play music and video with basic features. In addition, there is Stereo FM radio with RDS.
It is also equipped by Organizer. The Organizer can store up to 300 events; viewed in daily, weekly and monthly panels. There are also Notes, Tasks, World Clock, Calculator and Unit Converter available as well as Voice Recorder and Stopwatch on main menu. Other features include games and Smart Unlock.
