Samsung Glyde is a dual-band CDMA phone which already supports EVDO 3G network. Phone reception is good enough, and audio quality through earpiece as well as speakerphone is particularly fine. For internet connectivity, along with EVDO support, Glyde has built-in web browser that runs quite fast (of course it depends on EVDO signal reception in your area). The browser supports HTML, WAP 2.0 and handles JavaScript. Unfortunately, the screen seems too small for accurate finger presses since all navigation command is done through the screen by finger touch. EVDO network also allows you to connect to and read text-only email from POP3 and IMAP services as well as connect to multiple IM services. The Samsung Glyde also has Bluetooth version 2.0 and USB port for data connectivity. Glyde can also be function as a modem in your notebook or PC. Furthermore, Samsung Glyde SCH-U940 is supported by GPS system for navigation.

Samsung Glyde SCH-U940 is equipped by 2 megapixels camera with autofocus and LED flash. The camera can capture images in six resolutions from 1.600 x 1.200 pixels down to 176 x 144 pixels and three quality setting. The image quality captured is pretty good. The camera can also record videos of 320 x 240 pixels or 176 x 144 pixels at 15 frames per second. For storage, Glyde is equipped by 57 MB internal memory, and if that’s not enough, there is external memory available via microSD card. The multimedia feature is provided by built-in media player, both for music and video player. Glyde allows you to personalize the phone with a variety of wallpaper, banners, alert tones, and clock styles as well as dial font size on the display screen.

Others features include phonebook with 500 entries, multiple numbers per contact, Caller groups, Picture ID, and Ring ID, Voice Dialing, Voice Command, Calendar, Alarm, Calculator, Unit converter, World clock, Stopwatch, and Notepad.
