IEEE, or commonly known as a professional association of technology developers, has announced that there would be an increase in the standard WiFi. Standard WiFi update is currently at the version of 802.11n, will later be increased to 802.22. With this increase, the coverage area of a tether WiFi will be able to reach out to a radius of approximately 12,000 square miles or square meters 19312,128.
This increase is expected to facilitate the distribution of WiFi networks in different parts of the region. With his ability, WiFi 802.22 can act like a BTS (base transceiver station) on the cellular network, given the WiFi coverage is quite broad. 802.22 standard is actually intended for WRAN (wireless regional area networks). 802.22 standards run on the spectrum of 54 MHz to 698 MHz are used for long distance transmission. In the U.S., 802.22 standard is used as a TV frequency channels, after the era of analog TV that is not used anymore.
