First of all, let’s get insight with BlackBerry 8530 review in design. Basically, Blackberry 8530 is similar to the 8520 but thinner, narrower and lighter. It is measuring the dimension of 109 x 60 x 13.9 mm and weighing 106 grams. On the front side of the phone, there is TFT 65K colors and 2.46 inches display. Right above the screen, sits optical trackpad in place of the old trackball. The Talk and Menu keys are placed in the left side of the trackpad while End and Return keys are placed on the right side. Both are redesigned as if they are part of the screen. Next, there sits a typical RIM QWERTY keyboard. On the left side of the phone, there is the 3.5 mm headset jack, microUSB charging or data port and one convenience button. On the right is the volume controls and second convenience button. There is a music control at the top of the phone. The back side covers with a look like carbon fiber finish in which sits the 2.0 megapixel camera.

BlackBerry 8530 is a CDMA smartphone. It runs on dual band networks; CDMA 800/1900 network and CDMA 2000 1xEVDO network. The phone is equipped with Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), Bluetooth (version 2.1), microUSB for connectivity.

Then, BlackBerry 8530 review moves on the phone features and web browser. The voice quality of the phone is fair enough though it is not super clear. The address book integrates with VZ Navigator, allowing the user to navigate, look up or share locations using VZ Navigator inside of the address book. Like other BlackBerry series, it offers 10 email accounts that can be added to the BlackBerry email account. The push email application is excellent.

For browsing the web, Blackberry 8530 supports full HTML that can display websites in desktop style. But there are still some issues from the JavaScript. All applications run smoothly, thanks to its 528 MHz processor with 256 MB ROM internal memory. And it can be added with external memory via microSD slot card up to 32GB.

Next, BlackBerry 8530 review goes to multimedia. The media player is simple and good but still average. The phone comes up with BlackBerry Media Player for music and video playback. Audio formats supported are MP3, AMR-NB, AAC/AAC+/eAAC+, WMA and WAV, while the video formats are MPEG4, H.263 and WMV. The audio quality output via the built-in speakerphone is fairly good and the volume is super loud. It also equips with a standard 3.5 mm stereo audio jack and works with Bluetooth stereo headphones via A2DP.

The battery review is also considered in this BlackBerry 8530 review. For the battery, Blackberry 8530 is supported by Standard battery, Li-Ion 1150 mAh. BlackBerry claims that it can last up to 252 hours in standby mode and up to 4 hours 30 minutes on talktime mode.

Last, here is the conclusion of BlackBerry 8530 review. BlackBerry 8530 is a fairly good smartphone with respectable specifications. It has the new trackpad and the Music control buttons on top. It works smoothly when running multimedia applications like music and video. Furthermore, it supports the new VZ Navigator 5, an excellent push email experience, WiFi and Bluetooth v2.1. But then, BlackBerry web browser still disappoints in terms of speed and rendering capabilities.
