Things to do:
- Become familiar with OASIS (make sure you check the "StartUp" tab - it will provide a great deal of useful information about making a great start at Curtin)
- Check you are enrolled in the correct units (check your enrolment advice)
- Ensure you have registered for classes via eStudent (within OASIS)
- Check out LibGuides for library workshops and tours and to get a head start on developing your research skills, provided by your Library
- Find out where your classes will be held
- Check your Curtin email address to receive Curtin news and information (via OASIS)
- Organise your parking permit or public transport route
- Plan your semester timetable
- Check Blackboard (via OASIS) and read your Unit Outlines (if your lecturers have chosen to use Blackboard). You will also find lecture notes and tutorial information here.
- If you are a new to Curtin Undergraduate student starting your FIRST YEAR and FIRST SEMESTER at Curtin get in touch with your Mentor!

International students need to also:
- Contact your family to let them know you have arrived safely
- Find permanent accommodation
- Apply online to obtain your Overseas Health Cover card
- Open a bank account (this can be done through BankWest or UniCredit)
Higher degree by research students need to also:
- Review the information available for students who are new to a postgraduate research degree.
- Become familiar with the Guidelines for research students.
- Review the information available on preparing the Application for Candidacy.
- Register to attend relevant seminars.
