Along with its name, Motorola Rival A455 is created to be the rival in a competition with other phone of the same design. Is it really “rival” the competition? Let’s take a deeper look through Motorola Rival A455 Review.
First, it is Motorola Rival A455 review in design and appearance. Motorola Rival is a relatively compact and thick phone measuring at 97 x 51 x 18 mm and weighing at 127 grams. The phone covers with plastic materials. The front side of the phone is housed by 2.2 inches with 176x220 pixels display, a d-pad, and four action buttons (Call, End Call, Back and Keypad button). The screen has already used capacitive touchscreen that very responsive even on light touches. Unfortunately, it’s limited and can be used only on-screen dialpad to call someone. You still have to use the d-pad for menu navigation. On the left side of the phone, there are volume control keys, speakerphone button and microUSB port. While on the right side are 3.5 mm headset jack, lock key, voice command key and camera shutter. The back side, there is 2 megapixels camera. Slide horizontal the phone, and there is four rows QWERTY keyboard.
Next, let’s take a look at the interface and features. The interface takes the standard Motorola interface with only three themes option; Urban, White, and Ice Cream. Fortunately, there are options to change the menu layout, wallpaper and change the clock format. Motorola rival has included software features such as Mobile Web, VCast Music downloads, VCast Video streaming, and VZ Navigator for GPS. A wide variety of games and other programs can also be downloaded using the Media Center. Motorola Rival can save 1000 entry phonebook. Each contains a person’s name, 5 phone numbers and 2 email addresses, as well as selected ringtone and picture for CallerID.
Now, Motorola Rival A455 review moves on camera and multimedia. Motorola Rival is equipped with 2 MP camera. The photos captured are quite below average. The camera can be used to record videos but at tiny 176 x 144 pixels with 13 frames per second. Same as the camera, the video output is also below average. For storage, there are 178 MB of internal memory and additional external memory up to 16GB via microSD card. On multimedia, Motorola Rival does quite well trough built-in media player. The audio output through speaker is nice and loud.
Motorola Rival equips with standard messaging application; threaded SMS and MMS, two simple email applications, and a basic IM application that supports AOL, Microsoft, and Yahoo! Messenger.
